A 5 3/8 inch wide ORIGINAL -- AUTHENTIC rail road dining car saucer with a GLACIER NATIONAL PARK theme (picture of Mountains with St Mary Lake) on it. This is a saucer that was especially decorated for Great Northern Railroad Dining Cars which the mark on back authenticates. This is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE saucer, ca. early 1900s, from back in the peak of the GREAT NORTHERN RAIL ROAD travel and tourism. Back of plate: "SYRACUSE CHINA / ECONO RIM / A A 7 / TRADE MARK". I believe the 'A A 7' is the manufacturer's code for dating it? Condition: Plate is in GOOD SOLID condition. It has wear from age and use but NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc. The plate holder is NOT part of this sale, it is just a prop to hold the plate for photo'ing. Please see pictures for best idea of overall appearance / condition. Age: An ORIGINAL ANTIQUE dining car saucer, ca. early 1900s. Shipping: FREE DOMESTIC shipping. We DO ship Internationally but we do NOT insure International orders UNLESS BUYER SPECIFICALLY REQUESTS THIS AND WE ARE ABLE to provide an insurance estimate. It is becoming increasingly difficult to insure international orders and the price can exceed the price of the item, which can negate the sale. If an international shipping charge is much more than the actual shipping cost, we will refund the excess so what YOU pay for shipping/insurance is very close to, if not exactly, the ACTUAL shipping costs! This is important for foreign buyers to know as most of our foreign shipping charges are estimates. We do not falsify information on the Customs Form, such as a price other than what the actual purchase price is, so please do not request us to do so. We ship several times a week and your prompt payment will hasten the turn-around time. This is an outstanding looking saucer, the picture on it is a ghosted image of St Mary Lake, with the island in it, offset by the mountains of Glacier National Park looming over the lake. The picture on the front is NOTHING SHORT of a piece of art work. The maker's mark on the backside identifies this, ECONO RIM, as being a piece of Rail Road China and since it was found many years ago in WHITEFISH MONTANA that too validates it; Whitefish was a huge stop-over depot for passenger's journeying on into Glacier National Park. Is my PRICE TOO HIGH? FEEL free to make offer, I could not find another to use as a pricing guide. The picture on it makes this an intriguing piece and a great relic from old Montana and the park, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE ONE OF THE CUPS THAT fit into it. This old saucer was actually excavated on the outskirts of WHITEFISH Montana, many decades ago. In the 1960's an old dump site along the Great Northern Rail line was discovered by bottle hunters. In the early years of this rail road line, when Whitefish was a major terminal, the empty RR cars would sit along this siding being cleaned for the next trip, and all of the old liquor bottles, tobacco tins, beer cans, broken pottery, (SOME WHOLE!) and other refuse was removed from the cars and discarded down the bank into this old dump. This saucer was among the many other bottles and items retrieved from that area back then, check it out! Terms of Sale: Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction.
