1968 National Park Service Road Map BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY Virginia North Carolina

Official National Park Service fold-out road map and guide to the Blue Ridge Parkway, printed more than 50 years ago. This map opens up to 9¼” x 39½” and has good detail on old road alignments, along with a mileage log and photographs and descriptions of points of interest along the highway. This map was published in 1968 by the National Park Service, United States Department of the Interior. Condition: It is in very good, lightly used condition, with no rips or tears. A previous owner has made a few marks and written some words about an iron mine in the Otter Creek area. Some of the writing has blurred and bled through to the front cover. This map opens to 17¾” x 18″ and shows roads trails, fire lookouts, picnic areas, campgrounds, and warden’s cabin. It was produced by the Surveys and Mapping Branch of the Department of Mines and Technical Surveys, 1962 and published under the authority of the Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development, Ottawa, 1968.
